'Foxtail'

[ Liliaceae ] [ Africa ]

Asparagus densiflorus is a small, semi-woody plant with fern-like shoots. The cultivar Meyersii forms upright or arching, compact, cat tail-like shoots with fine, needle-like foliage. The tiny flowers are followed by attractive, bright red berries. It adapts well to a wide variety of situations in warm temperate and tropical climates in USDA Zones 9 to 11 and also makes an excellent house plant.
